Results of gender determination are available: more females than males
The gender determination of the red-throated divers has revealed that approx. 2/3 of the birds are female (15/22) and 2/3 of the red-throated divers are male (7/22). Already in the first two years of the DIVER project (2015 and 2016), females were caught more often than males. However, in the last year of the DIVER project in 2017, the gender ratio was more balanced than in the previous years. The reasons for these variations remain unclear.
As already known from the previous project, the information about the sex will be made available in the bird profile box in the tracking map.
